What is the origin story of JAX Beauty Bar?

Owning a business was always in my plan even as a young kid. When I first entered the industry at 18, I went into business for myself and rented a space from a lady who owned a salon. Over the span of 12 years, she became my very closest friend and taught me so much about what running a business meant and looked like. Our goal was that one day she would retire, and I would carry on what she had built. 

Several years went by and one day at 7:00 am in the morning, she called me and said her husband was very sick and she was shutting down the business if I couldn’t take over at that time. I wasn’t prepared in that moment, but I knew it was a dream that I wanted to see come to fruition. Overnight I made the decision that JAX Beauty Bar would come to life, and the revamping and rebuilding began! I've been in business now for 5 1/2 years!

Explain what your business does.

We are a full-service salon that offers all of your standard hair services along with luxury services like Brazilian Blowout and BELLAMI™ hair extensions. 

What sets JAX Beauty Bar apart?

At JAX Beauty Bar, being as we are a smaller boutique salon, every person that becomes our client becomes like family. We take time in getting to know the client’s hair goals and how to best achieve them.

How many employees?

We are a boutique salon with 6 stylists.

What are 2 things/fun facts people should know about JAX Beauty Bar?

1) We have a boutique inside for customers to enjoy shopping while they receive services. 2) We serve wine/beverages to help you relax and unwind while receiving your service.

What are your goals for the business?

To help women achieve confidence in their appearance and leave feeling better than when they walked in the door!

How would you spend an extra $100,000 at JAX Beauty Bar?

My ultimate vision for JAX Beauty Bar is to have a larger space that would occupy a coffee, beer, & wine bar, along with an outdoor space for events and live music. You could spend your entire day there getting pampered by day and enjoying music and time with friends through the night. My dream is to be able to host community events and gather resources & donations for domestic violence victims.
