ROCKING OUT AT THE WOMEN THAT ROCK SXSW UNOFFICIAL SHOWCASE

Written on March 14th: Feeling exhausted, but yesterday was an absolute blast! Got to embrace countless friends, groove to incredible tunes, connect with my girls, score some awesome freebies, and even meet one of my pop punk idols, Cassadee Pope from Hey Monday. Massive thanks to Mindy Hofman of Women of Austin for linking Girl Flock Party with Andie Aronow, the mastermind behind the Women That Rock Showcase. Thank you for having us as a community partner!

It's no secret that SXSW is a whirlwind of music, culture, and innovation, but amidst the chaos, one event stood out as a beacon of empowerment and celebration: the Women That Rock Unofficial Showcase. This year's edition, held at the stunning Austin Garden & Studio on East 6th Street, promised to be bigger and better than ever before, thanks in part to the support of Austin Monthly, who helped launch the showcase to unprecedented levels.

As a community partner, GFP had the privilege of experiencing firsthand the magic of Women That Rock. “Women That Rock is a music curation & discovery platform with a mission to spotlight & celebrate the best rising women in music.” From the moment we stepped into the venue, we were immersed in a world of female excellence and solidarity. The lineup of bands was nothing short of exhilarating, featuring a diverse array of talent spanning genres and backgrounds. Whether you're into indie rock, punk, folk, or anything in between, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

But Women That Rock is more than just a music festival—it's a celebration of women supporting women. Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to connect with fellow music lovers, artists, and activists who share our passion for equality and inclusivity in the industry. It was inspiring to see so many talented women taking center stage and proving that they belong in the spotlight.

In a world where women's voices are often marginalized, events like these remind us of the power of solidarity and sisterhood. So here's to Women That Rock and all the women who continue to defy expectations and make their mark on the music industry and beyond.
